A recent public opinion survey conducted in Wisconsin found that more than 79% of Wisconsinites find the information on billboards to be useful. In St. Paul, Minnesota, the voters defeated a proposal to ban billboards in their city. Clearly, the vast majority of citizens have a positive view of outdoor advertising.
The members of OAAW are in business today because the people of Wisconsin find the information provided on billboards to be useful and the businesses (especially tourism-related) find this form of advertising to be effective. OAAW members serve small business, and help promote Wisconsin companies and the causes championed by scores of local nonprofit service agencies. OAAW members donate millions of dollars of advertising space each year to civic groups and charitable causes.
